    Health Benefits Of Lychee

Lychee is a popular fruit that originated in China. It is enjoyed all over the world for its sweet taste and unique flavor. Lychee is also known for its many health benefits.

Lychees are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, vitamin B6, copper, and manganese. They also contain a good amount of fiber and antioxidants.

    Health benefits of lychees include:

    1. Boosting immunity: Lychees are rich in vitamin C, which is essential for boosting the immune system. Vitamin C helps fight off infections and helps the body recover from illnesses faster.

    2. Improving digestion: The fiber content in lychees can help improve digestion and prevent constipation. Fiber helps add bulk to the stool and makes it easier to pass through the intestines.

    3. Lowering blood pressure: Lychees are a good source of potassium, which is known to help lower blood pressure. Potassium helps balance out the negative effects of sodium in the body and can help reduce the risk of hypertension and stroke.

    4. Boosting energy levels: The B vitamins in lychees can help boost energy levels and improve cognitive function. B vitamins are essential for converting food into energy and helping the body function properly.

    5. Improving heart health: The antioxidants present in lychees can help protect against heart disease by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress. Lychees are also a good source of copper, which is essential for maintaining heart health.

    6. Preventing cancer: The antioxidants in lychees can also help protect against cancer by scavenging harmful toxins and free radicals. Studies have shown that lychees may help reduce the risk of breast, ovarian, and stomach cancers.

    7. Promoting skin health: The vitamins and minerals in lychees can help promote healthy skin. Vitamin C helps improve collagen production, while copper helps to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. Manganese present in lychees helps protect against damage from ultraviolet rays.

    8. Improving brain function: The B vitamins in lychees can help improve brain function and cognitive performance. B vitamins are essential for brain health and play a role in the development and function of the nervous system.

Lychees are delicious and healthy fruit that can be enjoyed fresh, dried, or canned. They make a great addition to any diet and offer many health benefits. Be sure to enjoy them in moderation as they are high in sugar.

    Ingredients

    Lychee lemonade ingredients

Lychees (Litchi) – Although I personally like to use fresh litchi, you can definitely use frozen or canned lychees to make the lemonade. If using fresh lychees, peel and deseed them before using.

Lime Juice – Use freshly squeezed lime juice for the best result. You can also replace it with lemon juice.

Sugar – I used granulated white sugar but you can also use maple syrup or agave nectar.

Others – You will also need chilled water, ice cubes, mint leaves, and lime slices.

You can replace water with club soda or sparkling water.

    How To Make Lychee Lemonade

    Add

    • 25-30 peeled and de-seeded lychee
    • 4 tablespoon granulated white sugar
    • 8 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice

to the jar of a blender and blend to make a coarse paste.

Transfer the lychee paste to a large pitcher.

Add 5-6 mint leaves, 3-4 lime rounds, and 4 cups of chilled water to the pitcher and stir until combined.

Check for sugar and lime juice and add more if needed.

Note – Pass the lemonade through a fine-mesh strainer if you like smooth lemonade.

Pour the lemonade into serving glasses over ice.

Garnish with mint leaves and lime rounds and serve chilled.

    Ready lychee lemonade.

    Storage Suggestions

This refreshing drink is best when enjoyed immediately, but can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.

Be sure to give it a good shake before serving, as the lychees tend to settle at the bottom.
