About Raita Masala
Raita Masala Powder is a spice blend added to raitas to enhance their flavor. I always have a bottle of this spice mix in the pantry as we make raitas for lunch almost every day.
Now, this spice powder is easily available in the market, but I like to make mine at home. The taste of the homemade masala is definitely better than that of store-bought. By making it at home, you are also sure about what is going into it. It is also more economical to make it at home.
These days, there is constant news about the adulteration of the spice mixes sold by various companies. To increase their profit margins, many companies use subpar ingredients and processes to make their products.
This is one of the reasons I always try to make as many things as possible at home. It doesn’t take much time, and with some pre-planning, you can easily manage your pantry well.
So, head to your kitchen and make this raita masala now using a few simple ingredients. Add ½ teaspoon to any raita to elevate its taste.
Ingredients
You need six ingredients to make raita masala spice mix: Cumin seeds, coriander seeds, dry red chilies, black peppercorns, asafetida (hing), and black salt.
Skip adding asafetida to make it gluten-free.
